Pop Up Mixer ATA Cases - 8 Space or 10 Space

Decent case that's solidly built with quality hardware including the handle, latches, and the pop-up rack which operates very smoothly. It also came with rack screws (nice touch) so I could pop my mixer in right away. The joinery is good and the top fits nicely into the bottom and it latches very smoothly and securely. One problem I observed is that the mixer could swing on its pop-up rails inside of the case when carried by the handle or the mixer could possibly be damaged if the case were dropped in such a way that it landed on its top. In this scenario the mixer knobs could smack into the inside of the cover and possibly damage them. A strategically placed strip of foam on the inside of the cover would remedy this. One downside to this type of case is that it doesn't absorb abuse as well as a foam-lined case since there's no foam between mixer and case. I also do not like the hexagonal bolt heads that protrude out from the exterior that hold the rack rails. They could scratch up other gear in your load. Also the placement of the rivets is not consistent with some of them closer to the edge of the aluminum molding than others. Overall, I recommend this case and as it has excellent bang for the buck.
